Executive Director of Dangote Industries Limited
Halima Aliko-Dangote is an Executive Director of Dangote Industries Limited (Dangote Group) and an
Executive Director, Sales, and Marketing, Dangote Flour Mills Plc (DFM), a subsidiary of Dangote Group.
The Group currently has a presence in 17 African countries and is a market leader on the continent. She is
also a Trustee of the Aliko Dangote Foundation and Board President of The Africa Center.
Halima Aliko-Dangote is a graduate of the American Intercontinental University, London, United
Kingdom and Webster Business School, in the UK where she obtained an MBA. She has attended a
number of high profile leadership development programmes including, the Programme for Leadership
Development (PLD) at the Harvard Business School, Executive Development Programme at the Kellogg
School of Management and Finance and Accounting for the Non-Financial Executive, Columbia Business
Halima Aliko-Dangote joined DIL in 2008 and served as Special Assistant to the President & Chief
Executive, with a wide span of responsibilities including providing technical support and advising on
strategy and management decisions. As an Executive Director of DIL, she is responsible for enhancing
the performance of DIL’s subsidiaries by ensuring shared services across companies; supporting capital
raising initiatives; and putting in place, Group-wide human resources and administration policies and
systems. She is also responsible for new business development and project management, working
closely with the President and other members of the Executive Team to develop geographic and sectoral
expansion plans for the Group. She currently serves as a member of the project management team that
is overseeing the development and financing of the Group’s newest businesses including an $9 billion
refinery and a $1.5 billion fertiliser plant, both in Nigeria.
Previously, she served as an Executive Director of NASCON, a DIL subsidiary with revenues of $82 million
and net income of $17 million. She continues to serve as a Non-Executive Director of NASCON. She
started her career as a Business Analyst with KPMG Professional Services in Lagos, Nigeria.
Halima Aliko-Dangote is spearheading the expansion drive of DIL, which is poised to become a Fortune
100 Company within the next few years.
Farida Yahya is the Founder of Lumo Naturals, an Abuja-based natural haircare
solutions brand that provides a combination of natural products, techniques, artistic
styles and education about African hair and the importance of healthy and natural hair
to natural hair owners.
She is also the founder of The Brief Academy, a learning hub dedicated to developing
and supporting female-owned startups to achieving wealth and scalability. Farida is
also the author of Redefining Beautiful, a book that discusses the realities of starting
a natural hair business.

Founder The Henna Place
Hadiza is the co-founder of the first northern Nigerian luxury traditional day spa in Lagos
called The Henna Place. Seeing an opportunity in the food and drinks market, Hadiza and
her business partner Fatima Waziri Wafailu expanded and established Clay Authentic
African Food shop, a company targeted at creating and promoting demand for local African
super foods, drinks and snacks.
Prior to founding The Henna Place, Hadiza worked at the public sector division of Cardinal
Stone, a financial institution specialized in investment management. She has also worked
with Nigeria Sao Tome and Principe Joint Development Authority as an internal auditor.
Following her passion for entrepreneurship and business growth Hadiza is on the board of
The Growing Woman Initiative (GWI), a nonprofit initiative targeted at helping women
grow their businesses. She also seats on the board of Sebore farms EPZ.
Hadiza is a graduate of business finance from Durham University and holds a masters in
finance and financial law from School of Oriental and African Studies (SOAS). She is

Ummahani Amin is the Managing Partner at the Metropolitan Law Firm and the Managing
Director of the Metropolitan Skills Limited. With over 17 years’ experience, she oversees
the delivery of a range of complex legal assignments at Metropolitan Law Firm, making the
firm amass a growing list of high-powered clients.
Ms Amin is also a certified PPP Expert from the Institute of Public Private Partnership (IP3)
Washington, and has significant interest and experience in Property Law, Trusts, Capital
Market Law, Communication Laws, Environmental Law, Oil and Gas Law, Islamic personal
Law and Islamic Financial Laws. This has made companies trust her to advise them on a
range of litigation and corporate issues. Amongst others, she serves as a company secretary
for Capegate, who are the market leaders in the innovative sourcing, aggregation, and
deployment of Micro Utilities.
She is a leading Non-Interest Finance Scholar in Nigeria, and through her brainchild -the
Africa International Conference on Islamic Finance-, Ms Amin continues to expand the
frontiers of knowledge in the industry, facilitates infrastructure development, while also
promoting financial inclusivity of a significant proportion of the African populace. The
AICIF, which is delivered annually by Metropolitan Skill Limited and other local and
international partners, have emerged to be the largest Non-Interest Finance platform in the

As part of her career, Ms Amin yielded to a call for national service in 2009, when she was
appointed to serve as a Special Adviser (technical) to the Minister of State, Commerce, and
Industry, a role where she contributed immensely to, especially in promoting ease of doing
business and the facilitation of the growth of the commerce and Industry sub-sector. Prior to
this role, Ms Amin has gained a range of expertise in the investment space with Northbridge
and Trust Investment Limited, with a particular focus on complex joint ventures and
corporate transactions. This has made her an expert in the development and delivery of legal
and regulatory issue resolution in corporate environments to mitigate risk.
